Biography

Mia Blackler is a Shareholder in the firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups in San Francisco. She focuses her litigation practice on commercial, real property and financial institutions litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Ms. Blackler’s financial institutions litigation experience includes wrongful foreclosure defense, bank operations, interbank disputes, auto finance, equipment leasing, and commercial disputes. In addition, she is well versed in enforcing creditors' rights, including prosecuting collection actions and seeking prejudgment remedies and receiverships. She has also handled complex fraud actions and class actions.

As to her employment practice, Ms. Blackler defends wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment and compensation claims brought in the courts and through administrative agencies.

  • Ms. Blackler is President of the Bay Area Chapter of the California Receiver's Forum and is serving as Education Co-Chair of the " CRF’s Loyola V Complex Case Symposium " to be held January 18-19, 2013. She has served on the CRF Board of Directors since 2011. Ms. Blackler is also a volunteer arbitrator for the State Bar of California's Mandatory Fee Arbitration Program. She previously served on the Board of Directors for Pets Unlimited.

    Ms. Blackler earned her J.D. at Boston University School of Law, where she served as Editor of the American Journal of Law and Medicine and participated in the criminal clinic. Ms. Blackler was a double major in French and Linguistics at Cornell University, where she earned a B.A.
