A total of seven new attorneys joined the firm in October

November 3, 2008 Los Angeles – Buchalter Nemer announced today that Paul A. Barrs and Ryan D. Staley have joined the Firm as Associates in the Real Estate Practice Group, resident in Los Angeles. Both join the Firm from Heller Ehrman where their real estate practices focused on private equity, hospitality and finance.

“Mr. Barrs and Mr. Staley are great additions to our Real Estate Practice Group,” said Michael Williamson, Chair of Buchalter Nemer’s Real Estate Group. “Their expertise and experience dovetails perfectly with our own work in real estate finance and syndicated transactions.”

Both Barrs and Staley have extensive experience representing lenders, borrowers, private equity funds as well as management companies and owners in negotiations and documentation of acquisitions, sales, financings and joint ventures for real estate assets and hotel management agreements, both nationally and internationally.

Barrs and Staley earned their J.D.’s at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2003. Barrs earned his B.A. in English Literature and History/Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995 and Staley earned his B.S. in Agricultural Economics at the University of California at Davis in 1996.

Five additional attorneys joined the firm last month. Tyson Hottinger, David Mark, and Janet Nalbandyan joined the Firm's Litigation Practice Group in Los Angeles. Sheridan West, who specializes in investment management, joined the Business Practices Group, and Brandon Guzmán joined the Bank and Finance Practice Group in San Francisco.
