Michael L. Meeks’ practice includes commercial litigation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, unfair competition and false advertising litigation.

Mr. Meeks has significant experience litigating intellectual property disputes. Mr. Meeks was recently lead trial counsel in a federal jury trial focused on trademark infringement including claims under the Lanham Act, the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (“ACPA”) and state trademark causes of action. In addition, Mr. Meeks has represented software companies enforcing rights in their trademarks involving issues of reverse confusion. His litigation practice has also included representation of clients in the entertainment industry, including working on a copyright and trademark lawsuit involving the “Charlie’s Angels” trademark and associated artwork, as well as copyright litigation on behalf of major motion picture studios concerning rights in major motion pictures. He has represented manufacturers of skin care products, including sunless tanning lotions, sunscreens, and moisturizing lotions, in eliminating trademark infringement and copyright violations on the internet, as well as defending claims of false labeling, false advertising and unfair competition.

Mr. Meeks has recently represented clients in patent litigation matters including a resealable drinking cup design for a national manufacturer, a lens design for military goggles, website software design, software for operating turbo chargers on engines, and a medical imaging technology for nerve imaging. In addition, Mr. Meeks has represented clients in patent false marking disputes and patent licensing disputes.

Mr. Meeks has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer from 2012 to 2019 and a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in the area of Commercial Litigation by American Lawyer Media in conjunction with Martindale Hubbell.
