We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly-motivated and experienced Litigation Paralegal for our Scottsdale office with an emphasis on civil commercial litigation. Under minimal supervision, the Litigation Paralegal will perform a variety of duties and tasks to assist attorneys in all aspects of case development and management, including, but not limited to, file intake, organization and administration, docketing, client communications and coordination, document review and preparation, public records research and analysis, case oversight and management, discovery, hearing and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out case development and management strategies including, among other things, file intake, organization and administration, client communications and coordination, and public records research and analysis;
- Document review and preparation of pleadings, disclosure statements, discovery and other ancillary and related court filings;
- Maintain professional, consistent and timely contact with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, co-counsel, experts, service providers and others;
- Strictly observe confidentiality of client matters and comply with applicable procedural rules and industry regulations as appropriate;
- Maintain and submit accurate time records for client billing;
- Continually learn and apply software and other technology as necessary to improve litigation management, efficiency and client service; and
- Provide support to attorneys and staff in all phases of the litigation process.
Qualifications:
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate or attorney declaration under the BPC 6450;
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a litigation paralegal;
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal and state court rules and procedures including, but not limited to, the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure and Local Rules of Court;
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis, as well as familiarity with Relativity One, CaseNotebook and Trial Director;
- Attention to detail and ability to proofread for context, grammar and typographical/spelling errors;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and organizational skills;
- Ability to strategize, develop, initiate and carry-out case management strategies.
