In a phone interview, DePeppe, a former collegiate soccer player, explained that while some of his clients initially considered publicly adding their names, they all ultimately decided against it due to the perceived risks.
“Certainly, for those in the category of roster limit [objectors], they are under stress, they have either been told that they are going to get cut or are at risk of being cut,” said DePeppe. “They are struggling to make the squad and think they are exercising their right, but they don’t need any attention.”
