“Taken together, the common benefit fees and individual attorneys’ fees add up to 33 percent of the settlement, though the common benefit fees are supposed to come directly from the NFL, not from individual payouts.
The cap ‘was a well thought-out move as it assures that a fair portion of the settlement money will go to the plaintiff and that a reasonable percentage will still go to the attorney,’ said Gary Wolensky, a product liability litigator with Buchalter PC. ‘I like it.'”
