LOS ANGELES, Calif., October 8, 2018 – Buchalter is pleased to announce that it has added four attorneys to its Los Angeles office – Litigation Shareholder Daniel M. Rygorsky, Bank & Finance Senior Counsel M. Reed Mercado, Litigation Special Counsel Richard P. Steelman Jr., and Health Care Attorney Roma B. Patel.

Daniel Rygorsky has extensive experience advising leading e-commerce and technology companies across the nation. He is well versed in matters relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act, ERISA, the Credit Repair Organizations Act, and federal, state, and local tax statutes.
“My existing practice fits perfectly with Buchalter’s growing Litigation Practice, and I am beyond excited to join the firm. Buchalter’s impressive platform and diverse attorneys will allow me to take my representation of clients to the next level by serving their needs across a number of practice areas,” said Rygorsky.
Mr. Rygorsky earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College where he earned the Pressman Prize for Excellence in American Politics.
Specializing in Bank & Finance Law, M. Reed Mercado represents a wide range of traditional and non-traditional lenders in complex financing transactions. He has structured, negotiated, and documented a wide variety of financing arrangements, including working capital financing, real estate secured financing, debtor-in-possession financing and bridge financing.
Mr. Mercado earned his J.D., University of California, Berkeley School of Law and received his B.A. from New York University.
Richard P. Steelman Jr.’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation disputes, with a particular emphasis on health care clients including, urgent care centers, emergency physician groups, billing companies, and hospitals, and financial services clients.
Mr. Steelman earned his J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law and received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University.
As a member of the Health Care Group, Roma B. Patel focuses her practice on regulatory health care matters and health business transactions.
Ms. Patel earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, concentrating in Health Law and Bioethics. She also earned an M.P.H, focusing on Administration and Policy from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
