Amber Arias is a litigation attorney in Buchalter’s Denver office and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She represents financial advisory firms, registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, and individual advisors in trade secret litigation, restrictive covenant enforcement, and Protocol for Broker Recruiting matters.
Amber’s practice is national. She represents clients coast to coast in state and federal courts, FINRA arbitration, AAA commercial arbitration, and in mediation. Her cases regularly involve cross-jurisdictional issues, expedited injunctive relief, and parallel proceedings in court and FINRA.
She is particularly experienced in advisor transition litigation: cases that arise when a team moves between firms and the prior firm files for a TRO, asserts trade secret misappropriation, or seeks to enforce non-solicitation, non-competition, or garden-leave provisions. Amber defends firms and the advisors they hire against these claims, with experience across wirehouses, independent broker-dealers, hybrid, and RIAs.
Amber’s clients include registered investment advisers, independent broker-dealers, hybrid firms, and individual advisors moving between platforms. She counsels clients on lateral hiring and transition matters, defends firms and advisors in trade secret, recruiting, and Protocol litigation, and represents clients in related Form U5 defamation and expungement matters, FINRA enforcement issues, and post-departure compensation disputes.
Beyond advisor-recruiting work, Amber handles complex commercial disputes more broadly, including contract litigation, business torts, and trade secret matters outside the financial services context.
