Mr. Carr is a Partner in Buchalter’s San Francisco office and a member of the Litigation Practice Group.
A proven first-chair trial lawyer, Mr. Carr has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict before juries, judges, and arbitrators. Mr. Carr has extensive experience leading complex, multi-party litigation from inception through trial.
Mr. Carr’s recent successes include: securing an $80 million dollar recovery and indemnity for a public agency in energy-related litigation, obtaining an eight-figure trial verdict in a shareholder dispute and securing a unanimous jury verdict awarding millions in damages in a real estate case. Having served as lead trial counsel in cases spanning numerous industries and subject matters, Mr. Carr knows what matters in a case, and knows how to be efficient in achieving the best result.
Mr. Carr has particular expertise in commercial contract disputes, real estate litigation, fraud disputes, partnership disputes, trade secrets, large-scale mass tort matters, including wildfire cases and energy-related litigation involving public utilities and agencies. He represents emerging-growth and privately held companies, Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 corporations, public entities, financial institutions, national retailers, and leading businesses across a range of industries.
Mr. Carr is also frequently retained to represent court-appointed receivers in matters initiated by government agencies and financial institutions. He has substantial experience navigating the complex legal, operational, and financial issues that arise in receivership proceedings.
