Daniel Crowell is a Partner in the Firm’s Nashville office and a member of the Labor and Employment practice group.
Mr. Crowell works closely with employers to solve difficult employment-related problems, stay compliant with applicable laws, litigate claims filed in federal, state, and local courts and agencies throughout the United States, and support M&A and restructuring activities.
Mr. Crowell has significant experience supporting employers with the following:
- drafting and reviewing employment-related documents, like employee handbooks, personnel policies, offer letters, employment agreements, commission and bonus plans, severance agreements & restrictive covenants
- making hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions
- managing leaves of absence and accommodation requests
- investigating internal discrimination, harassment, retaliation, safety, and whistleblower complaints
- managing investigations, audits, and inspections by the EEOC, USDOL, OSHA, NLRB, and their state and local counterparts
- defending discrimination, harassment, and retaliation lawsuits
- defending wage and hour class actions, collective actions, and private attorneys general (PAGA) lawsuits
- filing and defending lawsuits involving trade secret, non-compete, non-solicit, and non-disclosure violations
- transactions and restructuring, including due diligence, transferring employees, acquiring employees, leasing employees, and large layoffs
Prior to practicing law, Daniel served as a Military Policeman in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Crowell’s service included a combat deployment to Iraq in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
