Harrison Lawrence is a Registered Patent Agent in the firm’s Atlanta office and a member of the Intellectual Property practice group. Mr. Lawrence counsels domestic and international clients on protecting their innovations through strategic patent procurement and portfolio development. Mr. Lawrence’s prosecution practice spans a broad range of technologies, including mechanical, electrical, 5G networks, software, artificial intelligence (AI), and medical devices. Mr. Lawrence prepares and prosecutes utility patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), guiding clients through each stage of the patent lifecycle. He also drafts comprehensive IP and patent portfolio reports that document clients’ existing assets and inform enforcement, and strategic decision-making.

Mr. Lawrence has extensive experience successfully navigating 35 U.S.C. § 101 rejections by leveraging the Alice/Mayo framework to formulate persuasive arguments and strategically amend claims, allowing clients to obtain meaningful protection for inventions that frequently face heightened subject-matter scrutiny. Mr. Lawrence also conducts comprehensive prior art searches to identify relevant references and assess their potential impact on patentability and validity.

In addition to prosecution, Mr. Lawrence provides patent litigation support by preparing infringement claim charts, domestic industry claim charts, expert witness reports and rebuttals, and pre-hearing briefs in district court and ITC proceedings.
