Veronica Maldonado Usher is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Tax, Benefits and Estate Planning practice. She advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals and multigenerational families on advanced estate planning, wealth transfers, and trust and estate administration, including U.S. gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters.

Her practice spans core planning documents and sophisticated transfer structures to protect wealth, provide for beneficiaries, and support business succession. She coordinates with clients’ advisory teams, including CPAs and investment professionals, to align estate plans with broader financial and tax goals. She also advises on philanthropic planning, including establishing and administering private foundations and public charities. Veronica also guides individual and professional trustees, executors, and other fiduciaries through complex trust and probate administration.

With nearly ten years of experience, Veronica brings clarity and pragmatism to sensitive, high-stakes matters. Clients appreciate her talent for translating complex estate and tax rules into accessible guidance, handling family dynamics thoughtfully, and drafting with an eye toward reducing risk and preserving long-term relationships.
