“A Law Firm with a Heart” – Art & Living Magazine
At Buchalter, we believe that client service goes hand-in-hand with public service. Community commitment has been a core value since our founding in 1933. We are frequently recognized for our support of charities, both large and small through board service, hands-on volunteerism, donations, and pro bono legal services. Our efforts demonstrate the difference that can be made through direct engagement with the community.
Each of our offices plays an integral role in helping to improve the communities where we live and work through active service. From the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles where a group gathers each month to shop and prepare a meal for 150 – 175 homeless women, to the Ronald McDonald House in Orange County, to Advokids in San Francisco, a non-profit organization that provides legal support for families, counselors, and attorneys involved in the foster care system, community involvement is part of our culture. Each year, during the holiday season we participate in clothing, food, and toy drives.
Buchalter Scholars
We are particularly proud of our participation in a student work program with a number of local high schools. Students from economically disadvantaged circumstances work at the Firm while earning school credit and learning how to successfully conduct themselves in a professional environment.
In addition to assisting our scholars with college admissions, we provide financial support to overcome the challenges of purchasing books, computers, and other necessities. All of our work-program students complete high school and attend college.
It is a privilege to provide support to organizations and people that are making a difference. Below is a representative list of organizations that Buchalter proudly supports:
