Pamela Kohlman Webster is the firm’s Chief Risk Officer, an Executive Vice President and a member of its Board of Directors. She is also the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Attorneys Insurance Mutual Risk Retention Group.

Ms. Webster’s legal practice includes corporate reorganizations, insolvency, bankruptcy, workouts and liquidations, with a particular emphasis on entertainment and regulated industries including insurance companies, healthcare providers, and financial institutions. Ms. Webster’s more significant assignments include:

  • Open Road Films, Relativity Media, Blockbuster Video, Bob Yari Film Group, MGM Studios, The Tribune Company (counsel to a major entertainment company)
  • EMAK Worldwide, Inc. (counsel to the Independent Director)
  • WATTSHealth Foundation, Inc. (counsel to the conservator )
  • Mission Insurance Group, Inc., et al. (counsel to the debtor)
  • Angeles Corporation, Casablanca Fan Company (counsel to the creditors’ committee)
  • Bermuda Fire & Marine, Fremont Reinsurance Company (counsel to the administrator)

Ms. Webster represented the prevailing party in In re Grand Chevrolet, Inc., 25 F. 3d 728 (9th Cir. 1994)(cert denied), establishing that late payments could nonetheless be safe from preference attack if the debtor had a past practice of paying late.

Ms. Webster, who is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale Hubbell, has been recognized as a Best Lawyer in America in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, an honor she has received since 2011. She has been selected by Super Lawyer Magazine as a Southern California Super Lawyer from 2004 to 2021 – and was recognized as one of Super Lawyer’s “Top 50 Women in Law” of Southern California. Ms. Webster is recognized by Chambers and Partners as an “Eminent Practitioner” in the area of Bankruptcy and Restructuring, and was also selected as one of 2010’s Irish Legal 100, highlighting leading figures in law across the U.S. In 2019, Ms. Webster was selected by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a nominee for the 13th annual CFO Awards. Since 2020, Ms. Webster was recognized as Lawdragon 500 leading U.S. Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers. Most recently, she was recognized as a nominee in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “2021 Women’s Leadership Series and Awards.”

Ms. Webster earned her J.D. at the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1982.
