Jason Croft is a Partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City office. He is at the forefront of driving a business-minded approach to IP, helping companies transform legal departments from cost-centers to profit-centers and forge new paths to profitability. He actively manages patent-related matters for some of the world’s most innovative companies, with equal expertise in patent procurement, IP portfolio strategy, IP transactions, due diligence, and post-grant proceedings. His technical background spans cutting-edge disciplines including artificial intelligence and machine learning, telecommunications, 5G and IEEE wireless standards, augmented and virtual reality, autonomous vehicles, robotics, cryptography, biometrics, semiconductors, and decarbonization, among others.
Noel Gillespie is a Partner in the firm’s San Diego office whose practice focuses on strategic patent portfolio development for startups and emerging growth companies. He has extensive experience advising clients in digital health, medical devices, health information technology, telecommunications, semiconductor, and software sectors on using IP to protect market share and support premium pricing. A former electrical engineer who led development of free space optical communication systems and early CDMA cellphones, Mr. Gillespie brings deep technical fluency to his patent counseling practice.
Jonathon Talcott is a partner in the firm’s Scottsdale office. He is an experienced intellectual property counselor, litigator, and trial attorney specializing in high-stakes patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and technology-related disputes for clients nationwide. He also regularly assists clients in building and maintaining their IP portfolios, and advises on IP and technology issues arising in licensing and M&A transactions. Drawing on his background in physics and electrical engineering — and prior experience as a professional engineer designing cockpit electronics at a large aerospace and defense company — Mr. Talcott brings deep technical fluency across a broad range of industries, including software, consumer electronics, financial services, medical systems, and generative AI.
Dylan Wiseman is a Partner in the firm’s San Francisco and Sacramento offices whose IP practice focuses on trade secret litigation and protection, unfair competition, and employee mobility matters. He represents businesses across a wide range of industries — including artificial intelligence, aerospace, biomedical devices, life sciences, financial services, and clean energy — in disputes involving trade secret misappropriation and related IP claims. Nationally recognized by IAM and the World Intellectual Property Review for trade secret litigation, Mr. Wiseman has also contributed to leading treatises on trade secret law and has been called upon by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to present on U.S. trade secrets at international forums.
