Smoking pot may soon become less legally perilous under federal law, but the risks of owning a marijuana farm or dispensary appear likely to remain, attorneys and experts say….
“”It turns out it’s actually pretty difficult to make money in the legal cannabis market, at least in California,” said J. David Hitchcock, a shareholder with Buchalter PC specializing in real estate and cannabis matters.
He noted an uptick in the last five years of landlords in California taking properties through receiverships after their tenants’ businesses collapsed.”
