Gregg Josephson is a Shareholder in Buchalter’s Sacramento office and a member of the Firm’s Real Estate practice group. Mr. Josephson brings a wealth of experience in structuring, documenting and closing sophisticated commercial transactions. He is equally adept on all sides of the deal, working with lenders, borrowers, purchasers and sellers in a wide array of financing, loan and real estate transactions.

Mr. Josephson represents national, regional and community banks, as well as credit unions, private lenders and borrowers, in structuring, negotiating and consummating secured and unsecured loan transactions. He also has extensive experience in leading workouts, debtor-in-possession financing and foreclosures gleaned from his work representing both creditors and debtors in complex Chapter 11 and out of court restructurings.  This breadth of experience offers his clients the perspective of not only structuring and documenting lending transactions, but when necessary, advising them in formulating strategies for workouts.

During his career, Mr. Josephson has also served as inside general counsel to a major, publicly traded California-based bank. As a result, he provides unique insight for financial institutions in developing and maintaining systems and procedures to ensure their compliance with federal and California laws and related regulations.

Mr. Josephson’s real estate practice is very diverse, representing buyers, sellers, developers, landlords and tenants in purchase, sale and leasing transactions of retail, office, industrial and subdivision properties. In advising clients, his practice includes structuring, negotiating and drafting commercial purchase and sales agreements and leases for national developers and landlords, as well as family-owned businesses and other types of commercial property owners.

He also represents clients both on the buy side and sell side in connection with purchases and sales of businesses, including mergers and acquisitions, asset sales and stock purchases. His clients include high net-worth individuals, corporations, general partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships.
