Tina Smith is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group in the Firm’s Scottsdale office. Ms. Smith represents real estate investment trusts, national lending institutions and other commercial entities in a broad range of real estate transactions involving sales and acquisitions, sale-leasebacks, leases, secured lending, and property development. Ms. Smith also has experience in business entity creation, including bankruptcy-remote structuring; and foreclosure review and conduct of trustee sales.

  • Counsel to real estate investment trusts in connection with acquisitions and divestitures of single and multi-site commercial properties located throughout the United States, which representation includes drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and related conveyance documentation; review of title and survey, leases and other due diligence materials; drafting of curative instruments and agreements; and coordination of all aspects of the closing process
  • Counsel to institutional lenders and special servicers in connection with mortgage financing as well as disposition of distressed real estate and work-outs of distressed real estate loans
  • Counsel to one of the nation’s largest publicly traded automotive retailers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of dealership sites and the negotiation and drafting of leases, sub-leases, and restrictive covenant and easement documents
  • Counsel to real estate developers in connection with the acquisition of land sites and the development of commercial and high-density residential real estate projects in Arizona, Nevada, and California, which representation included negotiating purchase agreements and loan documents; facilitating the zoning and entitlement process; drafting governing documents; and coordination of the closing process

Ms. Smith earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 1996 and her B.A. from Northern Illinois University in 1991.
