Zachary Wertheimer is an Attorney in the Los Angeles office. As a member of the Corporate, Tax, Benefits and Estate Planning groups, Mr. Wertheimer’s practice encompasses all matters of employee benefits and executive compensation. He advises private employers and governmental entities in the design and implementation of employee benefits plans, as well as compliance with the complex legal and regulatory requirements of ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. He also advises clients on employee benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions.
In his executive compensation practice, Mr. Wertheimer counsels clients on matters of nonqualified deferred compensation, parachute payments, stock options, restricted stock, phantom stock, profits interests and stock appreciation rights.
Additionally, Mr. Wertheimer has robust experience with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). He advises clients on tax deferral strategies for ESOP transactions, creative financing for leveraged ESOPs, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Wertheimer received his Juris Doctor with a certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship Law from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law. He earned his LL.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law.
