Ali Fowler is Special Counsel in the Firm’s Nashville office and a member of the Labor and Employment practice group. In her practice, she represents employers of all sizes in a broad array of employment and human resource issues. This includes workforce and management training, employment agreements, separation and termination negotiations, protecting and enforcing trade secrets, EEOC investigations, and non-solicitation and non-competition agreements. Within this practice, Ms. Fowler is often called upon to conduct and advise on internal investigations and particularly enjoys working with businesses to identify problem areas from an employment standpoint and help develop and implement plans to minimize risk as much as possible. In addition to her broad knowledge base, Ms. Fowler is known for her genuine investment in each individual client’s success through the building of strong, trusted relationships with a personable style that makes even complex issues easier to navigate.
Prior to joining Buchalter, Ms. Fowler was a partner in the Labor & Employment group at Barton, LLP and served as General Counsel for Revolution Partners, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm which she helped to establish and for whom she continues to act as outside counsel. Ms. Fowler’s perspective and experience as in-house counsel is appreciated by her clients who find her relatable as someone who is attuned to their business needs and objectives..
Ms. Fowler is a strong believer in giving back to her community. Upon graduating from UT Knoxville summa cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, she began a year of service as the Official Spokesperson for the Governor’s Alliance for a Safe and Drug Free Tennessee as Miss Tennessee. In this role, she traveled the state speaking at 2-3 schools per day, 3-4 days a week. She also represented the state at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in Atlantic City, winning the Non-finalist Interview Award, and later traveled as an ambassador to Japan to promote Japanese tourism to the states along the Mississippi River. The significant scholarships she earned at both the state and national levels were used to fund her legal education at Vanderbilt University.
Upon graduation from Vanderbilt, Ms. Fowler practiced law at Bass, Berry & Sims in the Litigation department in both their Nashville and Memphis offices. Ms. Fowler then practiced at the Labor and Employment boutique Webb Sanders in Nashville also serving as the firm’s lead knowledge management attorney.
When she is not practicing law, Ms. Fowler enjoys volunteer work, live music, and spending time on the water. She has served on the Executive Leadership Team for the Mid-South Heart Ball to Benefit the American Heart Association and as an officerof the One Club at Regional One Medical Center. Currently, she serves as a National Advisory Council Member to nonprofit OneGreenThing.
