Becca Cassady is an Attorney in the Firm’s Portland office and a member of the Litigation practice group. Having practiced on both sides of civil disputes, Ms. Cassady offers a balanced perspective and a strong understanding of how cases are built, challenged, and resolved.   

Ms. Cassady’s path to the law was shaped by a natural curiosity as to how legal systems function and their impact on individuals, businesses, and communities. Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Cassady spent several years at a small law firm assisting trial attorneys with their civil practices. During law school, she broadened her experience by externing for the Appellate Commissioner at the Oregon Court of Appeals, and later, for the Honorable Ann Aiken at the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. She also served on Lewis and Clark Law School’s Animal Law Review journal, interned with the Small Business Legal Clinic, and studied international law in Opatija, Croatia.

Prior to joining Buchalter, Ms. Cassady practiced as a trial lawyer handling a wide range of civil matters, including professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty claims, sexual abuse, and vulnerable person abuse. Known for her precision and thoroughness, she approaches each case with thoughtful, well-reasoned advocacy.

  • Assisted cannabis business in pursuing negligence and breach of fiduciary duty claims against former law firm, resulting in $7 million jury verdict, comprising one of the largest verdicts in Oregon’s history for legal negligence.
  • Helped secure a $1.2 million judgment and other relief on behalf of Estate in breach of fiduciary duty and related claims against the former attorney of a vulnerable person.
  • Aided in defeating several summary judgment motions in a complex professional negligence/discrimination case against Washington-based hospital system.
