Genevieve LeFevour is a Shareholder in the Chicago Office in the Labor and Employment and Litigation groups. Genevieve is a highly experienced litigator in both the employment and general negligence arena. In addition, she provides employers with broad HR counsel—occasionally even serving as de facto general counsel—and assists clients with their general employment needs, as well as with local, state, federal and administrative filings. Genevieve also assists clients with traditional labor matters ranging from union negotiations, labor arbitrations and matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
Genevieve’s diverse client base includes private security companies, loss prevention companies, sports venue and event management companies, law firms, agricultural companies, manufacturing clients, temporary employment agencies and auto dealerships. She advises clients on compensation practices and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance, record retention and mandatory reporting, separation agreements, policy and procedure, as well as numerous other issues that are currently in flux, such as LEAVE laws, marijuana laws, and non-compete laws across the country.
Arbitrations and trials are the space in which Genevieve particularly shines, and she has often been described as “fiercely” advocating for her clients. She has handled numerous arbitration hearings and addressed National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) charges and grievances. And on the litigation front, she has overseen all aspects of and tried bench as well as jury trials resulting in defense verdicts.
