Jack Darrington represents clients in complex commercial disputes across multiple states, including contract disputes of all shapes and sizes, trade secrets, property and leasing matters, and fiduciary duties. His practice spans pre-litigation strategy and negotiation, trial-court litigation, and appellate matters. He was recognized as a 2025 Mountain States Rising Star.

Before joining the firm, he interned for Judge Ryan Nelson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He earned his J.D. from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, where he served as a Lead Articles Editor on the BYU Law Review and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Team. He earned and his B.S. in Economics and Philosophy, with a minor in Political Science, from Utah State University, where he was a Huntsman Scholar.

  • Represented an insurance brokerage in a two-week jury trial involving claims against its former business partner for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty, securing a complete victory on all claims and an award of punitive damages for the client
  • Prevailed on a motion to dismiss a claim by a member of an LLC seeking to dissolve the LLC and liquidate its assets
  • Defeated multiple fraud claims against client-real estate developer in five-day bench trial
  • Successful on motion to dismiss on behalf of a major financial institution, overcoming borrowers’ attempt to set aside decade-old judgment for breach of promissory note, including recovery of attorneys’ fees.
  • Overcame Plaintiff’s attempt to obtain a preliminary injunction and shut down a franchisor-client’s business operations in the “Cookie Wars”

  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of former executive and lender against former company
  • Prevailed on appeal for an HOA-client, overturning district court’s grant of summary judgment

  • Preserved real-estate developer’s $2,000,000 interest in a multi-family property, in addition to recovery of attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, in a three-day arbitration and subsequent
  • Successful on behalf of insurance brokerage against insurer in a professional liability coverage dispute
    • Alps Prop. & Cas. Ins. Co. v. Fillmore Spencer LLC, No. 2:22-CV-276-DAK-JCB, 2023 WL 3996808 (D. Utah June 14, 2023)
  • Secured full payment for subcontractor against general contractor in arbitration, in addition to an award of attorneys’ fees and costs
