Jessica Hawk focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation.  She has defended corporate and individual clients against claims involving fraud, unfair competition, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, financial products, and trade secrets misappropriation, and is experienced in consumer class action defense.  Ms. Hawk has also defended large corporate clients in employment matters involving misclassification and wrongful termination claims.  She routinely resolves class-based claims prior to litigation and has obtained the dismissal of class-based claims at the pleading stage and at class certification.  In a recent representative matter, Ms. Hawk defeated class certification in a putative nationwide consumer class action on behalf of a large brewing company where she deposed the named plaintiff, managed fact and expert discovery, and drafted the opposition to class certification.  Prior to joining Buchalter, Ms. Hawk spent several years of practice at a large international law firm.
