Julia E. Kilpatrick is a Litigation Associate in the Firm’s Orange County office and a member of the Products Liability practice group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and trials, including high-exposure investigations, and regulatory and compliance matters. Ms. Kilpatrick’s expertise spans across products liability defense, business torts, consumer class actions, and the preservation of trade secrets and confidential information in the context of e-discovery.

Ms. Kilpatrick represents national and regional manufacturers, retailers, distributors, importers, franchisors, and direct selling companies, among others. She has experience in a broad range of industries, including apparel and textiles, jewelry and accessories, automotive, chemicals (restricted and regulated), pesticides, PFAS, toxic torts, children’s products, toys and care devices, consumer appliances, cosmetics, health and wellness, and dietary supplements.

She has experience handling investigations and regulatory matters involving key agencies such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Attorney General investigations. Additionally, she provides counsel on compliance with Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other regulatory enforcement matters.

Ms. Kilpatrick works closely with clients to navigate complex legal challenges and develop effective solutions. With her strategic approach to litigation and meticulous attention to detail, she is committed to achieving favorable outcomes in high-stakes cases while protecting the business interests of the clients she serves.

  • Served as local counsel in obtaining a complete defense verdict in Yolo County Superior Court for a company providing consulting services related to urban forestry in a wrongful death case. After a 17-day trial, the jury found no liability for our client, while the co-defendant was found liable for over $24 million in damages.
