Lina is Special Counsel in the San Francisco office and a member of the Firm’s Family Law group. Over the last two decades, she has specialized in cases involving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Lina has experience with a variety of complex financial issues, such as venture capital, stock options, privately-held business interests, including professional sports teams, and large commercial and residential real estate portfolios. Lina has long standing relationships with other top professionals in the family law field, including financial experts, real property appraisers, tax attorneys, accountants, and vocational experts.
Lina is known for her in depth knowledge of family law, her negotiation skills, and her compassion in the representation of her clients.
Before transitioning to family law, Lina practiced as a civil litigator on a wide variety of matters, including business disputes, probate litigation, white collar crime, and anti-trust matters. Her background in commercial litigation has made her adept at understanding and settling complex family law cases.
Lina previously served as the Family Law Legal Editor and resident family law expert at Nolo.com-one of the nation’s largest publishers of family law materials. Lina wrote and edited hundreds of published articles spanning all U.S. jurisdictions and topics including support, attorney’s fees, property division, and imputation of income.
Lina is a Certified Mediator by the prestigious Center for Understanding in Conflict. Lina acts as a mediator and as consulting counsel for clients going through the mediation process.
Lina has been accepted into the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). COPAA is an Independent nonprofit organization which works to protect the legal and civil rights of students with disabilities at the national, state, and local levels.
Lina drafts premarital agreements.
Lina authors books, including Neighbor Law and Divorce and Money, which are available to purchase on Amazon. In Neighbor Law, she provides a plain-English guide to the laws behind common neighbor disputes. In Divorce and Money, she condenses her years of experience, education, research, and legal expertise in the divorce field into plain-English content that readers can use as they navigate the divorce process, either pro per or alongside their family law counsel.
