Neusha (“Naz”) Etemad is an attorney in the Firm’s San Diego and Orange County offices, focusing her practice on consumer class actions, product liability, and commercial litigation. Naz is known for being a skilled negotiator who effectively resolves matters through early case assessment, risk analysis, and tactical judgment. Her results-driven approach consistently delivers favorable outcomes for clients in both pre-suit and litigated matters.

Naz is a strong courtroom advocate. She is strategic in pursuing discovery and deposition practice, using the discovery process to limit client exposure, position cases for early resolution, and set the groundwork for successful motion practice when necessary. Naz also works closely with expert witnesses to strengthen clients’ defenses.

Naz represents digital platforms and prides herself on navigating novel legal issues while establishing favorable precedent. She is also a member of the Firm’s FDA Regulatory Compliance Group and advises clients across a wide range of industries, including food, beverage, cosmetics, skincare, and medical devices. Naz’s goal is to provide risk mitigation strategies while advancing company’s business objectives.

In addition to product liability, Naz has experience resolving commercial real estate disputes involving tenancies in common. Naz’s skillset and commitment to excellence have led to her selection for the Product Liability Advisory Council (PLAC) Future Leaders Program, an exclusive initiative open to a select group of lawyers vetted from leading law firms around the world.

False Advertising Claims – Purported Federal Class Actions

  • Defended and obtained favorable resolution for food manufacturer’s allegedly misleading labeling of protein daily value (“PDCAAS”).
  • Defended and obtained favorable resolution for food manufacturer’s allegedly misleading “Made In” claims.
  • Defended and obtained favorable resolution for food manufacturer’s “slack fill” allegations involving allegedly misleading packaging.
  • Defended and obtained favorable resolution for LED medical device company in alleged misbranding, deceptive advertising, and violation of 510(K) clearance.
  • Defended skincare brand for alleged misbranding, deceptive advertising, and violation of 510(k) exemption.

Litigation Successes

  • Obtained complete summary judgment and dismissal of claims on an issue of first impression regarding the obligations of a ride-hailing technology platform towards its users (W.D. Wash.).
  • Obtained terminating sanctions and an award of over $435,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs following years of hard-fought litigation over the rights to a renowned Muay Thai boxing trademark (S.D. Cal.).
