Robert Addison is a business litigator representing banks and financial institutions, corporate entities large and small, consumer products companies, and fiduciaries in business litigation matters in both state and federal courts. He has wide-ranging experience in general business and commercial litigation matters, including banking operations, banking and mortgage fraud, corporate litigation arising from the purchase and sale of businesses, partnership and joint venture disputes, corporate trustee litigation, real property disputes, film finance disputes, unfair competition, intellectual property claims, class actions, and provisional remedies, among many others. Mr. Addison is also an experienced appellate lawyer, having successfully handled appeals at all levels, including before the California Supreme Court.
Among the representative litigation matters Mr. Addison has handled are defense of claims for hundreds of millions of dollars arising out of fraud and Ponzi schemes, prosecution of plaintiff’s fraud claims on behalf of financial institutions, prosecution and defense of contractual and partnership claims between corporate entities and their principals, complex litigation representing corporate trustees arising out of management and investment of trust assets, litigation arising out of fraud and the removal of operating partners in a portfolio of real property assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars, defense of class actions, and numerous other complex business litigation matters.
In addition to his role as the Firm’s General Counsel, Mr. Addison leads Buchalter’s Litigation Practice Group as Firmwide Chair and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors.
