Talbott Ottinger is a Shareholder and the Chair of the Nashville Office Real Estate practice group. Talbott is a seasoned commercial real estate and business transactional attorney with extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, corporate structuring, and complex business transactions. He advises clients through every stage of the deal cycle, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, leasing, and capital raises. His practice combines a deep understanding of real estate markets with practical, business-focused counsel that helps clients move transactions forward with confidence.

In addition to his transactional practice, Talbott serves as outside general counsel to a wide range of clients, including real estate developers, hospitality groups, restaurants, hotels, and a regional distillery. In this role, he provides comprehensive guidance on entity formation, corporate structure and governance, contract negotiation, risk management, litigation and strategic growth initiatives. His clients value his ability to serve as both a legal advisor and a business partner who understands the operational realities of their industries.

Talbott also brings an entrepreneurial perspective to his practice, having been directly involved in numerous real estate development projects and co-founding a successful fast-casual restaurant concept. He has launched and been involved in numerous other operating businesses, including real estate consulting and investment as well as several hospitality, hotel and bar concepts, giving him a firsthand appreciation for the challenges and opportunities faced by business owners. This entrepreneurial background informs his legal work, allowing him to deliver advice that is both strategically sound and grounded in real-world business experience.

  • Represented developers in the acquisition, capital raise and development of Bode Hotels in Nashville and Chattanooga. Nashville project included the acquisition of 40 condominiums from individual owners and the redevelopment and conversion of units into hotel. Project involved multiple 1031 exchange transactions, investor capital raise, and financing for project
  • Representation of developer in the acquisition, capital raise and development of 76,000 SF office building located in the Opportunity Zone
