Taylor King is an Attorney in the Firm’s San Diego office and a member of the Labor and Employment and Litigation practice groups. Ms. King has experience representing clients in single-plaintiff cases involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour issues. She also routinely advises and represents clients in class action and representative PAGA cases involving wage-and-hour allegations, including failure to pay regular and overtime wages, meal period and rest break violations, misclassification issues, piece-rate pay agreements, and reimbursement claims. 

Ms. King also advises and counsels employers on issues relating to Human Resources, such as employee discipline, employee leave of absence rights, and confidentiality agreements/restrictive covenants, including reviewing and revising employer policies and agreements. 

Ms. King also has experience acting as an objective party investigating sensitive workplace complaints, including claims of sexual harassment, hostile work environment, sexual impropriety, and sexual abuse. She promptly completes interviews, gathers evidence, and prepares detailed reports and recommendations. She is committed to protecting the privacy of all participants, fostering an ethical environment, and is sensitive to diverse cultures and power dynamics across different organizational levels.

  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of private school and church facing allegations of misconduct by a former teacher.
  • Successfully opposed a special Anti-SLAPP motion to strike in the prosecution of a former employee’s theft of client confidential records and information, leading to early resolution of the matter.
  • Negotiated and resolved several employment matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and other claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and California Labor Code.
  • Resolved many claims pre-litigation through negotiations with opposing counsel, thus avoiding litigation.
  • Provided advice and counsel to clients on employee terminations and discipline, employee handbooks, and various employer policies and practices.
  • Conducted workplace investigations related involving allegations of sexual harassment, hostile work environment sexual impropriety, and sexual abuse.
