Wendy Ortega is an Attorney in the Firm’s Sacramento office and a member of the Litigation practice group. Ms. Ortega focuses her practice on healthcare litigation and regulatory matters, with an emphasis on complex managed care and reimbursement disputes.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Ortega served as a law clerk and, later, an attorney with a boutique California law firm, where she represented healthcare providers in provider-payer disputes involving contracted and non-contracted claims, payer downcoding practices, payment methodologies.
Before attending law school, Ms. Ortega worked as a legal assistant and later as a law clerk in the healthcare practice group of an international law firm, again with a focus on provider-payor disputes. Prior to and while in law school, she also worked as a legal student assistant, employee, and legal intern for a state agency, working with the agency’s legal and program teams on a variety of regulatory and enforcement projects.
