Buchalter is pleased to announce that Shareholders Mercedes O. Martin and Masahisa Mitsunaga were both recognized as 2021 Minority Leaders of Influence: Attorneys by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Mercedes Martin specializes in real estate transactions, with an emphasis on real estate secured transactions, tax credit finance and equity investments. She Co-Chairs the Firm’s Community Development Finance group. Ms. Martin regularly represents developers, borrowers, lenders and investors in the structuring and financing of projects nationwide utilizing low income housing tax credits, new markets tax credits and renewable energy credits, as well joint venturers and franchisees in the acquisition, disposition, management and financing of office, hotel and multifamily projects.
Masahisa Mitsunaga is Chair of the Japan Practice group and a member of the Firm’s Corporate and Intellectual Property groups. His clients see Mr. Mitsunaga as a solution provider, and he has represented numerous Japanese clients in connection with their challenging legal matters including large business and strategic transactions and business disputes in the United States for over a decade.
