Buchalter is pleased to announce that Zack Thompson has joined the firm’s Sacramento office as a member of the Litigation Practice Group and Appellate Practice Group.
A former appellate attorney with California’s Third District Court of Appeal in Sacramento, Thompson represents a broad spectrum of businesses and assists clients in resolving a variety of commercial and employment-related disputes.

Thompson has represented businesses across many industries, from small retail and hospitality companies to large financial institutions and agricultural operations. His practice spans a diverse range of commercial and employment disputes, including breach of contract and fraud claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate matters, and wage and hour and discrimination disputes. He handles matters through all phases of litigation, including negotiations, mediations, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. He has handled appeals in both California and federal courts and has submitted amicus curiae briefs on behalf of clients seeking to provide courts with additional perspectives on significant legal issues.

Thompson was recognized as a Northern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2020 through 2022. His professional and thought leadership activities include publications in the Sacramento Business Journal, the American Bar Association’s Landslide Magazine, and the Washington University Jurisprudence Review. He has also presented to business and legal audiences on appellate law and labor and employment law. Additionally, Thompson has served on the board of the Federal Bar Association’s Sacramento Chapter and has been active in several community and nonprofit organizations.
