28 July, 2025. Buchalter is delighted to announce that Ian Taylor and Michelle Da Rosa have joined the firm as Shareholders in the Pacific Northwest. Taylor joins the firm in Seattle while Da Rosa is in the firm’s Portland office, and both join as members of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.
“Ian and Michelle’s exceptional skill sets and deep knowledge of complex real estate transactions will be a great asset to our clients and further expand our Real Estate capabilities in the Pacific Northwest,” said Adam Bass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buchalter. “We are thrilled to welcome them to the Firm.”
Based in Seattle, Taylor represents both public and private clients acting as landlords and tenants in all aspects of leasing. His practice includes negotiating and drafting lease agreements for office, retail, distribution facilities, cell towers, and marinas, as well as niche experience with airport facility and aircraft hangar leases.
His practice also includes drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, easements, eminent domain matters and providing advice on legislative and regulatory issues.
“The entrepreneurial mindset at Buchalter complements my practical approach to real estate development, acquisitions, sales, leases, and regulatory compliance,” said Taylor. “I look forward to working alongside a team of talented lawyers and contributing to the firm’s continued success.”
Da Rosa’s practice involves both traditional real estate transactions and development and renewable energy projects. She works with a variety of commercial and residential real estate developers, as well as clients in the hotel, wind, solar, and natural gas industries. Her real estate practice includes affordable housing development, grants and financing, commercial leasing (retail, industrial, aircraft hangars, office, and cell towers), and analyzing and curing complex title issues.
Da Rosa also helps her clients secure the varied property rights they need for their project development. Performing due diligence, negotiating, and crafting real property agreements makes up a large part of her practice. Further, Da Rosa is one of Oregon’s leading attorneys in commercial and residential condominium law and master planned residential and commercial developments, with expertise in timeshares, common interest communities, association law, community land trust and affordable housing development.
“I am excited to join Buchalter and contribute to its outstanding national Real Estate practice,” said Da Rosa. “The Firm’s collaborative culture and client-focused approach align perfectly with my practice and commitment to delivering exceptional results.”
Bass added, “We have strong demand for Real Estate expertise from our clients in the Pacific Northwest, and Ian and Michelle are great additions to our Real Estate team and the entire Firm. We excited to watch their practices grow and develop with the resources Buchalter provides.”
