Expert urges Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce not to forget one thing in their prenup

Monica Mazzei, shareholder in the San Francisco office of Buchalter and Chair of the firm’s Family Law practice, said any high-net-worth individual should consider having a prenup “so that they can plan for what will happen in the event of a divorce or if they predecease their spouse.” The lawyer said that in Taylor’s case, important factors to keep in mind are “protecting her name and likeness, any copyright and intellectual property created during marriage, and income earned during marriage.”

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror US, Monica said she would also advise the pair to include in their prenup that in the event of a divorce dispute, the matter will not be taken to the public court but will be resolved through the use of a private judge or mediation. This can help limit the amount of publicly filed documents, keeping the matter “very discreet,” Monica told us. Surprisingly, most celebrities don’t usually include this in their agreements, she revealed.
