Dealing with Problem Employees in a High-Stakes Environment: Best Practices for Urgent Care Centers

March 6, 2014

By Damaris Medina

Damaris Medina’s article, “Dealing with Problem Employees in a High- Stakes Environment: Best Practices for Urgent Care Centers” was published on the Urgent Care Association of America’s (UCAOA) UCAccess Blog.

From the article…

“A small percentage of employees frequently create the large majority of the problems for an organization. Problem employees can be detrimental to a company’s bottom line in a number of different ways—they infect morale, may cause employee turnover, are inefficient, and reduce overall productivity. However, for healthcare organizations like urgent care centers that are in the business of providing patient care, the stakes are even higher. In the absence of an efficient, well-run, collaborative team, an urgent care center decreases the level and quality of care it provides, potentially putting lives at risk. ”
