Mitzi L. Hill is a Special Counsel in the Firm’s Atlanta office and a member of the Corporate practice group. For more than thirty years, she has worked with businesses across a wide range of industries on cutting-edge issues arising from their use and development of technology solutions.  Today, those issues often arise through AI and privacy compliance, vendor management/customer requirements, and protection of proprietary information.  Her experience includes fifteen years in-house at Turner Broadcasting, where she oversaw multiple regulatory compliance programs, international content licensing, and legal clearance of new technology systems. In addition to her time in-house, Mitzi has served as outside counsel for both mid-cap and global enterprises, advising on matters including technology development and licensing, a wide array of commercial agreements including services arrangements in both the tech and supply chain arenas, privacy compliance and risk mitigation, data processing and cross-border transfer arrangements, and emerging issues including AI deployment.  She started her career with a large international law firm, where she focused on technology and media issues, including satellite distribution, copyright infringement, and First Amendment claims.

Mitzi’s strong background allows her to work closely with clients, including retailers, logistics companies, service providers, platform operators, and others to ensure that they are prepared for AI, privacy, and cybersecurity requirements imposed on them by law and by their customers or buyers, including under the EU AI Act, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.  Mitzi enjoys writing and speaking on emerging AI, data security, and privacy issues.

Mitzi also has an extensive background in media and intellectual property issues and has handled media and sponsorship rights, program distribution, and content and programming matters for television and film. In addition, she has spent significant time overseas, having resided in London to oversee a client’s legal support for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In her free time, Mitzi works to support Georgians diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), practices yoga, and supports the Crimson Tide. She also travels widely with her camera, and has been to Cambodia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, Laos, New Zealand, Syria, Thailand, Vietnam and other points distant.
