31 January 2025 – Buchalter is pleased to announce that Sherry Haus has joined the Firm as a Shareholder in its Sacramento office and as a member of the White Collar Practice group.

Haus is a seasoned litigator who has represented public companies, as well as officers and directors, in both civil and criminal matters. She is well-versed in handling government investigations, including parallel civil and criminal federal investigations, and has counseled clients in matters such as anti-money laundering requirements and internal investigations. Haus has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions in investigations by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other regulatory agencies.

Before joining Buchalter, Haus served as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for the Eastern District of California, where she investigated and prosecuted economic crimes such as tax fraud, financial fraud, public corruption, and healthcare fraud. Her cases included a major unemployment and disability fraud case, which then-Chief United States District Judge Morrison C. England, Jr called “one of the longest-running and most sophisticated fraud schemes that [he] ha[d] ever seen.”.Haus’s legal career also includes experience in white collar criminal defense and securities litigation defense at a major international law firm, where she provided counsel to clients navigating complex securities and financial matters.
