Buchalter Commercial Finance attorneys represent the most dominant institutions in the commercial lending and finance market. The firm has practiced in the commercial finance area since its inception in 1933. Through this representation, we participate in and shape the most complex and novel transactions in the market.
Buchalter has one of the largest practices in the West Coast devoted exclusively to commercial finance transactions. Our Commercial Finance attorneys are well known and widely respected by clients, peers and market observers and have won numerous awards and honors for their practice. Buchalter is the only regional law firm among the national and international firms to be ranked by Chambers and Partners as a leading law firm in the California commercial finance market.
Our attorneys represent a wide range of regional, national and international commercial banks and non-bank credit providers in many types of debt finance transactions across a broad spectrum of industries. Our practice runs the gamut from small loans made by a single lender to a single borrower, to large broadly syndicated international multi-currency loans made by many lenders to large borrowers and their foreign affiliates.
We also apply our vast finance knowledge to the representation of our private equity, corporate and high-net worth individual clients as credit takers. And our commercial finance attorneys frequently collaborate with our corporate and securities, M&A and insolvency and creditors’ rights attorneys to provide an efficient one-firm solution to all the needs of our clients.
Our Commercial Finance attorneys are active legal scholars as well as practicing lawyers. Through our active involvement in leadership positions with local, national and international legal forums, law schools, and industry trade groups, our attorneys are among the leading educators in our field.
Buchalter Commercial Finance attorneys have drafted and contributed to the development and adoption of several industry forms that have gained wide market acceptance and brought greater certainty and efficiency to our clients’ transactions. We have also contributed to the drafting and enactment of the applicable laws in our field.
We are relationship-minded attorneys and we appreciate that we are in a service business. We understand our clients’ needs and put ourselves in their shoes. While we are mindful of our duty to advance our clients interests vigorously, we also are constructive, practical and reasonable practitioners, who find ways to simplify and complete deals, rather than complicate them. We enjoy harmonious relationships with opposing counsel and their clients, and we are respected for our ability to close complex deals cost effectively, smoothly and timely.
